As reported, on December 31, 2021, Minister of Agrarian Policy Roman Leschenko signed a memorandum with producers of socially important foodstuffs to stabilize prices for natural gas of own production, the document limits the margin on gas produced in Ukraine at 25%.

The Memorandum sets the maximum level of supply and sales markup to the price of natural gas of own production at no more than 25% to meet the needs of producers of socially important food.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said in December 2021 that the government, on behalf of the president, is developing mechanisms to support Ukrainian bakers and other producers of socially important products in connection with the abnormal price of natural gas.

The possibility of introducing appropriate markups for socially important food products, in particular for social bread, is also being considered.
