Military spending in state budget accounts for 35.4% in July – Finance Ministry
KYIV. Aug 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Expenses for the salaries of military personnel in July amounted to UAH 62 billion, or 35.4% of all expenditures of the general fund of the state budget in that month (UAH 174.9 billion), the Ministry of Finance reported, citing data from the State Treasury.
According to it, in general, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, UAH 287.8 billion, or 29.1% of all expenditures of the state budget general fund (UAH 988.1 billion), have been allocated for payments under this item.
In general, remuneration with accruals in July amounted to UAH 81.7 billion, or 46.7% of expenses, and since the beginning of the war – UAH 386.6 billion, or 39.1%.
In addition, since the end of February, another UAH 135.1 billion, or 13.7%, has been spent to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the form of purchase of military equipment, weapons, ammunition, defense products, personal protective equipment.
According to the Ministry of Finance, since the beginning of the war, 21.7% of all expenditures, or UAH 214.2 billion (in July – UAH 38.9 billion), were for social security, including UAH 89.4 billion to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, UAH 66.1 billion – to the Ministry of Social Policy in the form of benefits, compensations, and housing subsidies, as well as monthly targeted assistance to internally displaced persons, and UAH 30.4 billion – assistance under the eAid program.
Of the remaining expenses, 6.3-6.6% fell on the National Health Service of Ukraine for the implementation of the program of state guarantees for medical care – UAH 62.2 billion, public debt servicing – UAH 65.2 billion (in July – UAH 3.1 billion) and transfers to local budgets – UAH 64.1 billion (in July – UAH 6.5 billion).
The ministry reported with reference to preliminary data in early August, the revenues of the general fund of the state budget in July amounted to UAH 169.6 billion (of which UAH 80.4 billion were external grants), while cash expenditures amounted to UAH 174.5 billion.
