Metinvest's Pokrovske Coal intends to launch new longwalls, increase production in 2023
KYIV. Nov 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Metinvest’s Pokrovske Coal plans to launch new longwalls and increase coking coal production next year, therefore, it has now announced the recruitment of new workers and offers high wages at mines.
According to the company, in the conditions of hostilities, when many enterprises of Donetsk region were forced to stop their activities or completely cease to exist, Metinvest Pokrovske Coal’s enterprises are working, increasing production rates and need new employees.
One of these enterprises is the Pokrovske mine: the plans of the Pokrovske mine for the next year include the opening of new longwalls, which need tunneling teams.
"These are huge volumes of increase in production. At the same time, we understand that a colossal attraction of new specialists will be required," Serhiy Stepanenko, director of personnel and social issues at Metinvest Pokrovske Coal, quoted by the press service.
According to him, now not only local residents come to work at the mine, but also many people who did not even live in Donetsk region before the war, and there are more than one hundred of them during the eight months of a full-scale invasion.
"Almost one and a half thousand people have found jobs at Metinvest Pokrovske Coal’s enterprises. The geography has expanded: now people come to us from different regions – Kryvy Rih, Zaporizhia, Avdiyivka," Yulia Tsikladze, head of the recruitment department at the Metinvest Career Center, said.
At the same time, it is stated that the salary at the Pokrovske mine is the highest in the region and one of the most competitive in the country. At the same time, an additional payment of 50% of the salary is provided for work in close proximity to the area of hostilities, as well as medical insurance. Employment is carried out according to a simplified procedure, first you just need to make a phone call. Now the company has a need for underground miners, underground plant operators, drifters, mining machine operators, and mine working repair specialists.
Pokrovske Coal is the largest producer of coking coal in Ukraine.
