Metinvest's Kamet Steel reaches maximum load of rolling mills, incl for shipment to Poland

KYIV. Feb 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Kamet Steel plant of the Metinvest mining and metallurgical group, created at the facilities of the Dniprovsky metallurgical plant (Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region), plans to load a number of rolling mills to the fullest.

According to the company’s press release, in February the ball-rolling mills went into operation with the maximum load on both production lines.

“For nine months, only one mill periodically worked at the ball-rolling section of the plant. The other day, the rolling mills resumed production at full capacity,” the company’s information states.

At the same time, it is specified that in February they plan to roll 3,900 tonnes of products. The first batch was sent to Polish enterprises.

“Currently, grinding balls with a diameter of 40 mm and 80 mm are being produced, which are necessary for the stable operation of Metinvest’s mining and processing plants; they are used in mills for high-quality ore grinding,” the report says.

It is also noted that during the period of forced downtime, the rolling mills updated the equipment of ball rolling mills on their own: they carried out repairs of the main components and mechanisms, carried out an audit of the rolling stands and restored the equipment of the heating furnaces of the site.
