Metinvest invests UAH 180 mln in education over 15 years – CEO
KYIV. Aug 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Metinvest Mining and Metallurgical Group over 15 years since the company’s establishment has invested UAH 150 million in education, supporting projects to introduce 57 professional and 50 educational standards, Metinvest CEO Yuriy Ryzhenkov has said.
"We are consistently engaged in the reform of technical education in the country. Over 15 years of work, Metinvest has invested UAH 180 million in education, we are building the first mining and metallurgical university in Ukraine – Metinvest Polytechnic," Ryzhenkov said.
According to him, in particular, Metinvest has become a partner of the WorldSkills Ukraine competition for working professions since the competition was founded in 2016. This year, the WorldSkills Ukraine competition starts in October.
The organizers of the competition are the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Institute of Education Content Modernization, the Federation of Employers of Ukraine with the support of the Federation of Metallurgists of Ukraine and the Ukrmetalurgprom association.
The Worldskills International Association was founded in 1946. The competition is held in 85 countries. Ukraine became a member of Worldskills International in 2016.
