Merkel asks Putin to influence Minsk in context of refugee situation on Belarusian border – German govt
BERLIN. Nov 10 (Interfax) – Acting German Chancellor Angela Merkel has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to influence Minsk in the context of the refugee situation on the Belarusian border, German government spokesperson Steffen Seibert said.
"The telephone conversation concerned the actual situation on the Belarusian-Polish border. The chancellor stressed that the use by the Belarusian regime of migrants against the European Union is inhuman and absolutely unacceptable and asked the Russian president to influence the regime in Minsk," Seibert said.
