Megogo launches its own dubbing studio, plans to dub about 400 films by 2023

KYIV. Nov 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Media service Megogo is launching its own dubbing studio and plans to focus mainly on Ukrainian-language dubbing, the service said on Friday.

In-house studio Megogo Voice will sound films, TV series and cartoons. By the end of 2022, it is planned to create an adaptation for almost 400 tapes.

Currently, the studio has already presented more than 15 films, among them – Sea of Trees, Phantom Thread, etc.

According to Megogo statistics, the media service has already presented more than 20,000 units of content in Ukrainian.

Professional dubbing actors, theater and film actors, among whom there are many recognizable voices, will be attracted to work in the Megogo Voice studio. Now there are eight actors in the studio’s team, and their number will increase.

"We have been and remain a service that has the largest number of units of legal Ukrainian-language content in the world. Therefore, communication with copyright holders in order to increase the number of Ukrainian audio tracks is still a priority. But despite this, there are still many films and TV series that do not have Ukrainian voice acting at all. Therefore, we are starting a new stage in working with foreign content. Our own dubbing studio is an important step on our way," Strategic Development Director of Megogo Ivan Shestakov said.

As reported, in February 2021, Megogo media service began its own production of audio series.

Megogo is one of the largest media services in Eastern Europe for watching video, TV and listening to audio.

The service is available on TVs with the Smart TV function, media players, Apple TV, Android TV consoles, game consoles, smartphones and tablets based on iOS and Android.

Megogo also has a web version.
