Mega-Garant loses status of MTIBU member
KYIV. Oct 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) has announced that JSC Mega-Garant (Kyiv) has lost the status of an associate member from October 5, 2022.
According to the bureau’s website, the company has lost the right to conclude contracts for compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners.
At the same time, the termination of Mega-Garant’s membership in the MTIBU does not release the insurer from the fulfillment of its obligations according to the contracts concluded for the compulsory insurance of vehicle owners’ civil liability.
As reported, in connection with the decision of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on the suspension of the licenses of Mega-Garant, including for the compulsory insurance of vehicle owners’ civil liability, the company lost the right to conclude new OSAGO contracts from July 30, 2022.
On August 1, the National Bank of Ukraine suspended the insurance activity license of JSC Mega-Garant in connection with the violation of mandatory financial regulations.
