Meeting of Russian and Ukrainian Ombudswomen in Turkey expected from Jan 12 to Jan 14
KYIV. Jan 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova has said that she plans to meet with the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets in Turkey from January 12 to January 14.
"I confirm that I am planning this meeting. There will be a large forum organized by the Turkish ombudsman in Turkey. Many ombudsmen from various countries will be there. And we have preliminarily discussed the possibility of a meeting and the approximate agenda of our negotiations," Moskalkova told reporters.
According to her, this meeting will be held from January 12 to January 14.
A day earlier, Lubinets said that in a few days in Turkey he would meet with Moskalkova to discuss the return of prisoners to Ukraine.
Separately, he noted that he would raise the issue of the return of civilian hostages. "The plans are ambitious. We don’t know how the Russian side will behave. However, we receive positive signals beforehand that they are ready to consider this issue," the Ombudswoman stressed.
