Market of new commercial vehicles in Ukraine slows down growth rate to 44% in Jan-Sept

KYIV. Oct 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Primary registrations of new commercial vehicles in Ukraine (including heavy trucks) in January-September increased by 44% compared to the same period in 2020, to 11,100 vehicles, the Ukrautoprom association reported.

As reported, in January-August, the increase in registrations of these cars was 52% over the same period last year.

According to the information on the association’s website on Monday, in particular, 1,418 vehicles were registered for the first time in September – 5% or 68 vehicles more than in September 2020 and in August of this year.

The position of the leader in September, as in the previous month, was taken by Citroen with a market share of almost 22% and an increase in registrations compared to September 2020 by 2.3 times, to 310 vehicles (a year earlier the brand took the third place).

The second place was taken by the leader of September 2020 Fiat – 202 vehicles with a 43% drop in registrations, however, compared to August 2021, they grew by 52%.

Renault has the third result – 193 registrations, which is 42% more than in September 2020.

Volkswagen is on the fourth position in the rating (less by 4%), with 90 new vehicles.

The Belarusian MAZ closes the top five, adding 21% to its last year’s result, having sold 85 new trucks over month (compared to 70 trucks in August 2021).
