Market of e-vehicles in Ukraine up by 54.5% over 11 months, by 65% in Nov
KYIV. Dec 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Registrations in Ukraine of new and used electric vehicles in January-November exceeded the same indicator in 2021 by 54.5%, to 11,759 vehicles, including 16.4% of new ones versus 13.7% year-over-year, the Federation of the Automotive Industry of Ukraine reported based on data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the Federation, in November, the market decreased by 9.1% compared to October of this year, to 1,422 units, which, however, is still significantly (65%) higher than last year.
In January-November, Volkswagen became the new leader in registrations with a market share of 20.2% and moving up four positions compared to last year’s result. At the same time, brand registrations increased by more than five times, to 2,375 units.
Second place belongs to the leader of last year, Nissan, with an increase in registrations by 12% and a share of 19.7% (in 11 months 2021– 26.7%), Tesla is third – 14.9% (down by 1 position).
Fourth place, as a year earlier, belongs to Renault – 6.8%, and Honda came in fifth with a share of 5.2% (up by 8 positions), increasing registrations by 5.5 times, to 613 units.
At the same time, Chevrolet, which occupied the third position in January-November 2021, moved to the tenth position this year with a decrease in registrations by 55%, to 344 units (market share 2.9% versus 10%).
Other brands included in the top ten (Hyundai, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi) increased their registrations.
In the structure of registrations of electric vehicles by year of production, according to statistics, in January-November, the most registered cars were produced in 2021 – 2,440, followed by registrations of cars produced in 2022 – 1,717, 2019 – 1,318, and 2020 – 1,166 cars.
