Main goal of COVID-19 vaccination campaign to provide everyone with one or two doses of vaccine – WHO representative in Ukraine
KYIV. Sept 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The main goal of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign now is to provide everyone with one or two doses of the vaccine, World Health Organization (WHO) representative, Head of the WHO Office in Ukraine, Dr. Jarno Habicht has said.
"The main task now is to provide everyone with one or two doses of the vaccine, and later, in a year or two, if necessary, we can talk about some additional vaccination," he told Interfax- Ukraine in an exclusive interview.
According to Habicht, Ukraine has now reached the global goal of having 10% of those vaccinated by the end of September.
"Ukraine has already reached this figure. The next goal is to vaccinate at least 40% of the population by the end of the year, but I think Ukraine will be able to achieve even higher rates by this time," he said.
