Macron calls so-calls so called Russia’s ‘referendums’ in occupied territories of Ukraine cynicism
KYIV. Sept 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – French President Emmanuel Macron criticized Russia’s intention to hold so-called "referendums" in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, calling them "provocation" and "cynicism," FranceInfo reports.
"This is an additional provocation, which, in our opinion, will have no consequences for our position: Russia must withdraw from the territory of Ukraine and respect the recognized borders," the president said.
"The organization of referendums in the territories affected by the bombing, where people were forced to flee, is a sign of cynicism," he added.
