Lviv Defense Cluster produces 80,000 bulletproof vests, plans to reach 100,000
KYIV. Sept 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Lviv Defense Cluster has produced 80,000 body armor, a significant part of which was made from more than 500 tonnes of steel sheets received free of charge from Metinvest Group of Rinat Akhmetov and Vadim Novinsky.
According to the company’s information, the manufactured bulletproof vests were handed over to Ukrainian defenders.
The report notes that the cluster was able to organize production from scratch during the war. The cluster brings together defense industry specialists, volunteers, and manufacturing facilities from across the country to provide defenders with quality bulletproof vests. The organization has its own laboratory for testing finished products, so each body armor is carefully checked.
"We managed to establish the production of high-quality bulletproof vests transferred to the front. Thanks to reliable partners, including Metinvest-SMC, we managed to produce 80,000 bulletproof vests. Our goal is to reach 100,000 bulletproof vests in the near future," chairman of the cluster board Maksym Plekhov said, stressing that all ammunition meets state standards and requirements of the military, the materials have been tested and shot.
According to him, the cluster also develops body armor for doctors, and as part of assistance to juvenile services, protective kits for the evacuation of children have been developed and are being produced.
