Lukashenko says agrees with Putin to deploy joint regional group of forces

KYIV. Oct 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The presidents of Russia and Belarus have agreed to deploy a joint regional group of forces, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said at a security conference on Monday.

"Given the exacerbated situation on the western borders of the Union State, we have agreed to deploy a regional group of forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. All of that complies with our documents. Whenever the threat reaches the current level, we start to activate the Union State’s group," the Belarusian state-run news agency BelTA quoted Lukashenko as saying.
