Lowest level of vaccination of teachers demonstrated by Zaporizhia, Volyn regions – Shkarlet
KYIV. Aug 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet has said that Zaporozhia and Volyn regions show the lowest level of vaccination of teachers.
"Recently, unfortunately, the statistics on the incidence of COVID-19 has been growing in Ukraine. And this is sad news. Whether educational institutions remain full-time, without exaggeration, depends on each of us, on a conscientious attitude to their health and adherence to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of each individual teacher, university teacher, student and parents of our students," Shkarlet wrote on the Telegram channel.
The minister also expressed gratitude to the teachers who took the vaccination course.
"I treat with understanding and respect those who, for good reason, are forced to abandon the prevention of coronavirus by receiving a vaccine. At the same time, I urge not to hesitate everyone who plans to be vaccinated, but has not yet managed to do so," he added.
Shkarlet stressed that the requirement of the Ministry of Health for the presence of 80% of the vaccinated employees in the staff of the educational institution is quite reasonable and realistic.
"According to the regions, today the threshold of 65% of vaccinated teachers has already been overcome by Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions (taking into account those who have received one or two doses so far). Several other regions have indicators of about 50%. The lowest level of vaccination of teachers, unfortunately, is demonstrated by Zaporizhia and Volyn regions," the minister said.
