Less than 0.5% of Interior Ministry's officers transfer to occupiers' service – Klymenko

KYIV. March 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The total number of officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine who betrayed their homeland and went to serve the Russian invaders after Russia’s full-scale invasion into Ukraine is less than 0.5% of the total number of employees of the department, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko has said.

“The structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is a cut in principle of Ukraine. There are a lot of collaborators among civilians… in Zaporizhia region, in Kherson region, and a small part of law enforcement officers, including law enforcement officers representing the Ministry of Internal Affairs, get there. I believe that these are enemies of the state, and I’m just glad that there are few of them – they are less than a percent of the system in general – even less than half a percent,” Klymenko said in an interview recorded on February 21 and aired on the National Telethon on Wednesday.

“These people made their own choice… The system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the units that are part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, did everything to ensure that very quickly, for several days, these people were not on our lists so that we would not be dishonored… We cleansed ourselves and we became stronger,” the minister said.
