Legal disputes for UAH 160 mln involving Ukrspyrt distilleries going on – MP Yuzhanina
KYIV. Sept 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The distilleries incorporated into state-owned enterprise Ukrspyrt cannot be privatized until the end of litigation over their potential tax arrears totaling UAH 160 million, MP from the European Solidarity parliamentary faction Nina Yuzhanina wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
According to her, the issue of tax arrears of distilleries is being considered by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy.
"We considered the issue of distilleries, which are incorporated into state-owned enterprise Ukrspyrt. They cannot be privatized, since they have a tax debt, and therefore their property is in tax lien. The confirmed sum of the debt is UAH 20 million and the potential sum is about 160 million," Yuzhanina wrote.
According to her, the privatization of these alcohol assets will be possible only if their debts are repaid by the new owners.
As reported, Head of Ukrspyrt Serhiy Bleskun said in August 2021 that investors had already transferred funds for the privatization of 18 distilleries of state-owned enterprise Ukrspyrt, 15 of them had already signed acts of acceptance and transfer of property, 12 distilleries remained in the management of the state enterprise.
The privatization of the alcohol industry involves the sale of 41 distilleries of state-owned enterprise Ukrspyrt and another 37 factories united in the Ukrspyrt concern by the State Property Fund (SPF) of Ukraine.
