Law enforcers launch probe into disclosure of AFU plans by Ukrainian high-ranking serviceman in interview – Maliar
KYIV. Aug 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian law enforcers have launched an investigation into the disclosure of information about the strategic (operational) plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) by one of a Ukrainian high-ranking military official, who voiced this information in an interview with one of the well-known publications, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar reports.
"The Ministry of Defense, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, is working to prevent and counteract the leakage of important military information, in particular, through the media and other public communications. The fact is that the leakage of this kind of information disrupts the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the enemy corrects its actions and uses this information against us," Maliar said on Facebook on Thursday.
She clarified that recently the SBU found that "an interview with a high-ranking military man to a well-known publication contains information that, by some indicators, reveals information about the content of strategic [operational] plans for the use of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, issues of training, and organization of combat operations."
"On this fact, an investigation is underway in the manner prescribed by law," Maliar stressed.
