Large-scale military drills of defense nature to be held in Ukraine in Sept – Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces Zaluzhny
KYIV. Sept 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – From September 22 to September 30, 2021, at all the main military training grounds of Ukraine, as well as in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas, strategic command-staff military exercises of a defense nature United Efforts 2021 will be held, said Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny.
"The Strategic Command and Staff Exercise United Efforts 2021 is a defense-related exercise aimed at protecting Ukraine, increasing its defense potential and compatibility with the armed forces of partner states," the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine quoted Zaluzhny as saying during a briefing on Friday, 10 September,
It is noted that the preparation took into account modern approaches to the use of troops (forces) of NATO member countries, as well as the experience of armed conflicts in recent years and Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and operations of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO).
The General Staff emphasizes that during the development of the exercises, one of the possible options for the development of the military-political situation around Ukraine was used.
