Kyivstar plans to increase network autonomy to 4-6 hours
KYIV. Nov 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kyivstar mobile network operator plans to replace batteries in network equipment to increase the power autonomy of the network, Kyivstar President Oleksandr Komarov has said.
"Now, we have a task to increase [the shoulder of the network’s nonvolatility], to make the network operate without power from the current one and a half or two hours to four-six hours," he said at the panel "Lessons for Business from the War in Ukraine" at the Kyiv International Economic Forum on Thursday.
Komarov said that for this it is necessary to replace batteries in tens of thousands of objects. At the same time, according to him, to replace batteries at one facility, it is necessary to provide logistics for a cargo weighing 500 kg, half a day of work by specialists, and after installation, conduct testing.
"For us, the biggest challenge now is to ensure the stability of the service, despite the current very difficult conditions," Komarov said.
