Kyiv administration cuts funding for reconstructing Bortnychi aeration station in 2021 due to shift in construction dates

KYIV. Aug 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The redistribution of funds envisaged for the reconstruction of the first stage of the Bortnychi aeration station is due to the shift in construction dates because of the change of the general contractor, the department of housing and municipal infrastructure of Kyiv City State Administration has said.

"The contractor organization, which performed work at the facility, could not cope with them, which was the reason for the suspension of the project … Taking into account the technological process of construction, changes were made to the schedule of work with a shift for 2022, and budget funds were redistributed for the purpose of their effective and full use," the department told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the report, PrJSC Kyivvodokanal held an open tender to determine a new contractor. So, on July 29, a contract was signed with the new contractor, and construction work on the project was resumed.

According to ProZorro, Ukrmetal Bud LLC became the winner of the tender for construction works with a proposal of UAH 320.8 million. Earlier, in 2018, PJSC Kyivmetrobud was designated as a contractor.

As reported, Kyiv City State Administration approved the redistribution of UAH 16.1 million in 2021 for the construction of a number of housing and municipal facilities by reducing the amount of funding for the reconstruction of the first stage of the Bortnychi aeration station. Of this amount, UAH 12.1 million will be allocated for the reconstruction of siphon crossings across the Dnipro River, UAH 4 million – for anti-landslide work on the slope of the Batyeva Mountain, as well as at 46 Lukyanivska Street.
