Kyiv adapts European Arboricultural Standards – authorities

KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The city of Kyiv has taken the first step towards the implementation of European Arboricultural Standards developed in the European Union this summer, the Kyiv City State Administration has reported.

"Today, the capital has an agreement with the Association of Ukrainian Cities on the start of work on the Ukrainian version of the standards. At the same time, professional support will be provided by a working group organized by the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Kyiv City State Administration together with the municipal enterprise Kyivzelensbud," the Kyiv City State Administration said in a report in its Telegram channel.

The next step will be the introduction of standards at the level of the capital. In addition, the Association of Cities of Ukraine will ensure the possibility of using these standards in other communities of Ukraine.

The European Technical Standards in Tree Work (TeST) includes a set of rules on the best practices for tree planting, pruning and caring. A total of 12 organizations from 11 European countries took part in the development: arborist associations, institutes, training and research centers.
