Kuleba: Zelensky, Erdoğan, Guterres coordinate not just positions, but their actions on key issues, no one forced them to make concessions in favor of Russia

KYIV. Aug 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and UN Secretary General António Guterres during a meeting in Lviv on Thursday, August 18, coordinated not just positions, but their actions on key issues, no one persuaded Ukraine to make concessions in favor of Russia, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.

"I suspect that until the end of this war, the solution of many problems through diplomacy will depend on the coordination and decisions of this trinity [the President of Ukraine, the President of Turkey, the UN Secretary General]. There is mutual understanding between them, this is the main thing. The presidents and the Secretary General coordinated not just positions, but our actions on key issues: the grain corridor, Zaporizhia NPP, the release of our prisoners. It is not just about what we talked about, but agreed on who does what," Kuleba said in a video statement posted on Facebook.

The minister also said Erdoğan and Guterres sincerely empathize and want to solve problems.

"No one persuaded us to make concessions in favor of Russia. If some kind of ‘betrayal’ flies again on social networks, then I want to say right away that this did not happen," Kuleba said.

He said Zelensky and Erdoğan spoke for a long time, much more than was expected.

"There was a tete-a-tete meeting, and this allowed me to work fruitfully for an hour, to work out the Crimea Platform summit. There will be a summit, it will be very cool," he said.
