Kuleba: Ukraine takes very seriously info available to govt about potential coup, to share it with partners

KYIV. Nov 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine takes very seriously the information available to the government about a potential coup d’etat and will share it with partners, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.

"It goes without saying that when we talk about hybrid weapons, external military pressure goes hand in hand with the internal destabilization of the country. So we look very seriously at the information available to the Ukrainian government at this stage when it comes to a potential coup in Ukraine, and we remain extremely vigilant. Our law enforcement agencies are studying this information and we will certainly provide our partners with updated information as soon as we receive it," Kuleba said in an online briefing on Monday.

He said that "if Russia decides to take the last resort, a military offensive operation, it will undoubtedly be preceded or accompanied by systematic and frank attempts to destabilize Ukraine from within by all means available to Russia."

Kuleba said the Ukrainian Armed Forces are committed to protecting the sovereignty and democratically elected government and leadership of Ukraine.

"I have no right to comment on the information available to our law enforcement agencies at the moment, but the Ukrainian army is highly respected and trusted in Ukrainian society, and the army leadership is committed to protecting the sovereignty and democratically elected government and leadership of Ukraine. I have no evidence to suggest otherwise," he said.

Kuleba said that speaking about such sensitive information as a potential coup, one must be very careful in the wording, assessments and allow law enforcement agencies to present what they have in due time.
