Kuleba: Ukraine becomes active, pragmatic player on world stage

KYIV. Sept 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine has become an active player on the world stage, which pragmatically promotes its interests, remains committed to European and Euro-Atlantic integration, ready for global cooperation and strengthening relations with strategic partners, said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

"The Crimea Platform and the visit of the head of the Ukrainian state to the United States are two signals from the president to the world that Ukraine is back in the game. We are not those who beg for something, not victims, not poor relatives. Ukraine is not a victim, Ukraine is a savior," Kuleba said, speaking at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Friday, September 10.

The diplomat noted that the bold foreign policy of President Volodymyr Zelensky solves very pragmatic tasks directly related to the vital interests of our state: it strengthens national security, the security of every Ukrainian, attracts new investments, expands economic cooperation with promising players in order to raise the standard of living and material well-being of people, and to increase the competitiveness of the Ukrainian economy.

Kuleba recalled that Ukraine is creating new alliances and is actively shaping a new architecture of global and regional security. He identified such new formats as the Crimea Platform, the Lublin Triangle with Poland and Lithuania, the Associated Trio with Georgia and Moldova, Quadriga with Turkey.

"Ukraine is forming a belt of freedom, prosperity and security around its borders," the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

He also recalled the adoption of the Foreign Policy Strategy. "These are not just slogans declared on paper, but a clear, precise, verified and systematized high-level strategic document on foreign policy. It helps the state move forward much more effectively and achieve its goals," Kuleba stressed.

"The real subjectivity of the state lies not only in making its position heard in the international arena. Real subjectivity is in the fact that foreign policy creates new opportunities for Ukraine. Opportunities are not for politicians. Opportunities for Ukrainians are being created to feel safe, to be proud of their country, develop business, reveal economic and cultural potential," the diplomat added.
