Kuleba to make working visit to USA to participate in UNGA general debate – MFA

KYIV. Sept 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On September 19-23, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba will pay a working visit to the United States to participate in the general debate of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported.

"The President of Ukraine has identified three main priorities of the work of the Ukrainian delegation at the UN General Assembly: strengthening the international coalition in support of Ukraine, in particular, increasing the supply of weapons and financial assistance, bringing Russia to international responsibility for its crimes and intensifying relations with the countries of the Global South," a message posted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on Monday says.

As noted, Kuleba will preside at the Ukrainian ministerial event on bringing Russia to international responsibility, will take part in the UN Security Council ministerial meeting on Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, a high-level event on the safety of civilian nuclear facilities in armed conflicts against the background of the Russian occupation of the Cheonobyl Nuclear Power Plant and a high-level event on global food security.

In addition, the head of Ukrainian diplomacy will hold a number of bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe. The Foreign Minister is scheduled to participate in the Ukraine–Poland–Great Britain trilateral format initiated by Ukraine at the ministerial level and the GUAM ministerial meeting.

The Foreign Ministry stressed that special attention during the Minister’s contacts will be paid to the topic of security guarantees for Ukraine in the context of the document The Kyiv Security Compact developed by the Yermak-Rasmussen group.

Kuleba will also hold a meeting with experts from the Council on Foreign Relations.
