Kuleba reminds IOC president about 184 Ukrainian athletes killed by Russia in response to proposal not to politicize sports
KYIV. Dec 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, in response to the next statements by President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach that sport should not be politicized, recalled about 184 Ukrainian athletes killed by Russia and stressed that "using sports to whitewash war crimes is sickening."
“Since February, Russia has killed 184 Ukrainian athletes. And now Mr. Bach is quoting Emmanuel Macron as allegedly saying ‘sports should not be politicized’ and athletes from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus should be treated equally. Using sports to whitewash war crimes is sickening,” Kuleba said on Twitter Thursday evening.
