Kuleba: Putin to hear from Biden very clear signals of what Ukraine's partners plan if Russia falls back on military operation
KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – During the video meeting on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin will hear very clear signals from U.S. President Joseph Biden of what Ukraine’s partners will do if Putin falls back on a military operation against Ukraine, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.
"I would not expect any breakthroughs, I think that tomorrow President Putin will hear very clear signals from President Biden of what Ukraine’s partners will do if Putin falls back on the military operation against our state, and these will be convincing things," Kuleba said in on air of the Svoboda Slova (Freedom of Speech) program on the ICTV television channel on Monday, December 6.
He said that he would not expect any breakthroughs from the negotiations.
"I think that tomorrow each side will declare its maximalist vision of the logic of further actions, and then different teams will work on how the situation will develop further," the minister said.
Kuleba said that after the Biden-Putin talk, a telephone conversation between Biden and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled.
"The plan was that before the call there will be a call from Blinken, and after the call there will already be a conversation between the presidents," he said.
Earlier it was reported that Zelensky and Blinken in a telephone conversation agreed on positions before the Biden-Putin conversation.
