Kuleba: Decisions on supply of F-16 fighters not taken at meeting of Ukraine–NATO commission
KYIV. April 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba has said that decisions on the supply of F-16 fighter jets were not taken at the meeting of the Ukraine –NATO commission, but the issue will be discussed with the political leadership of the countries.
Speaking at a briefing following a meeting of the Ukraine–NATO commission in Brussels, Kuleba said that he had discussed the issue of providing Ukraine with multi-purpose F-16 fighters at some bilateral meetings in Brussels.
“The discussion consisted of two blocks: we dispelled the arguments that the provision of Western aircraft to Ukraine is too long and difficult. There are no solutions. But I received assurances today that, given the information I provided about Ukraine’s much higher readiness to operate these aircraft than someone think, this will be discussed in the capitals with the political leadership of these countries,” Kuleba said at a briefing following a meeting of the Ukraine–NATO commission in Brussels.
The Foreign Minister assured that a decision will be made, but it will take time.
