KSG Agro starts sunflower, corn sowing campaign on almost 10,000 ha
KYIV. May 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The agricultural holding KSG Agro has begun sowing sunflower on 8,500 hectares and corn on 1,000 hectares, the start of sowing due to temperature conditions and humidity levels was shifted from April 17 to the present time, according to a press release from the group of companies on Wednesday.
Plant protection agents from Syngenta and Limagrain and four John Deere planters are used during the sowing process.
KSG Agro clarified that its winter crops (rapeseed, wheat, barley) are in good condition, at present, the farms of the agricultural holding carry out their chemical treatment and fertilize with a urea-ammonia mixture.
According to preliminary forecasts, the completion of the sowing season is scheduled for May 20, 2022.
The vertically integrated holding KSG Agro is engaged in pig breeding, as well as production, storage, processing and sale of grain and oilseeds. Its land bank is about 21,000 hectares.
According to the agricultural holding, it is in the top five pork producers in Ukraine.
