Kravchuk might have to skip TCG meetings until later this year after heart surgery
KYIV. Aug 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Donbas Leonid Kravchuk will most likely not attend TCG meetings until November or December 2021, spokesperson for the delegation Oleksiy Arestovych said.
"As far as I know, Leonid Makarovych [Kravchuk] is currently going through a complicated period of rehabilitation. Undergoing surgery at 87 years of age is always pretty tough. In the meantime, the [TCG] talks will be conducted by [Minister of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy] Reznikov. Possibly until November or December," Arestovych said on the Ukraine 24 television channel on Monday.
It was reported earlier that Ukraine’s first president, Kravchuk, underwent heart surgery in late June. Reznikov is currently filling in for him in the TCG.
