Klitschko presents title of Honorary Citizen of Kyiv to Boris Johnson in Davos

KYIV. Jan 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko in Davos presented former Prime Minister of Great Britain Boris Johnson with an award from the Ukrainian capital, the title of Honorary Citizen of Kyiv.

"Boris has repeatedly visited the Ukrainian capital – both in peaceful times and in the most dramatic time of our struggle against the Russian aggressor. As Prime Minister of Great Britain, Johnson did everything possible to help Ukraine. And he continues to support us and convince the civilized world of the necessary support," Klitschko said in his Telegram channel.

Johnson thanked for the difference and expressed confidence that the Ukrainians will win in the fight for their freedom.

"Putin made a catastrophic mistake. And all that we, friends of Ukraine, must do now is to continue to support Ukraine – with tanks, planes, financial resources, everything necessary. So far, Ukraine will win. Ukraine is a free, sovereign, independent European country," Johnson said.

Johnson was presented with the award by the mayor of Kyiv at the Ukrainian House in Davos.

The city council approved the decision on its assignment at the end of November 2022.
