Kherson downtown again under attack by Russian invaders – region’s head
KYIV. Jan 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Russian occupation troops have again struck a residential neighborhood of Kherson: residential buildings were destroyed, a fire broke out, said Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration Yaroslav Yanushevych.
"Ruscists purposefully hit the residential quarter of the city with MLRS. There is not a single military facility nearby, only residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. Because of the attack of the Russians, there was a fire, unexploded ammunition remained," he wrote on his Telegram channel on Thursday.
According to him, thanks to the prompt work of rescuers, the fire was eliminated, the shells were removed.
"A resident of Kherson Hanna lives in one of the houses affected by Russian shelling. The blast wave and fragments of shells knocked out the windows in the woman’s house. They will be promptly installed by specialists of Kherson regional Municipal Emergency Rescue Service. They will soon go to the scene to help the citizens eliminate the consequences of the Russian attack," the head of the Regional Military Administration informed.
According to Yanushevych, there are no casualties among the peaceful residents of Kherson.
