Kharkiv City Council official dismissed after posting in social media vacation photos from Nice
KHARKIV. Aug 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The European Solidarity faction at Kharkiv City Council has demanded to carry out a check into the fact of posting in social media vacation photos from Nice by Head of the Land Relations Department of Kharkiv City Council Serhiy Kolesnyk and, if the information is confirmed, fire the official.
"In such important days for the country and the city, Head of the Land Relations Department Serhiy Kolesnyk decided to visit Nice, a French resort city, and share details of his rest in social media. The European Solidarity faction at Kharkiv City Council demands to check this information and, if it is confirmed, proposes to dismiss Serhiy Kolesnyk as Head of the Land Relations Department," the faction said on Facebook.
Head of the Media and Public Liaison Department of Kharkiv City Council Yuriy Sydorenko told an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent that Kolesnyk has been dismissed.
"He has been dismissed today. His dismissal has no relation to the statement of the European Solidarity. […] One must not behave like this during the war," Sydorenko said.
