KYIV. April 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kernel, one of the largest Ukrainian agro-industrial groups, has invested EUR 1 million in a joint project with partners to develop automotive infrastructure.
“During the year, Kernel has been actively developing the export of raw materials by road. As part of the new project, we have offered carriers to invest in developing their transport potential and become our partners,” the company wrote on Facebook.
Five carriers were involved in cooperation. According to the terms of the project, Kernel entered into annual contracts with them and partially compensated for the cost of the purchased equipment. As a result, the fleet of carriers was replenished with 31 road trains with tanks, oil tanks comply with Euro-6 European safety standards.
According to the carrier Street Company LLC, which bought four tow trucks with barrels for transporting sunflower oil under the program, even after the ports were opened, the agricultural holding continued to fulfill its agreements and provided drivers with stable work.
As part of developing the logistics strategy, Kernel plans to expand its own fleet with new dump trucks for its Auto-Transport Enterprise-2004 LLC (Kropyvnytsky).
The next steps in the project will be the introduction of 100% electronic document management with carrier partners and the launch of an e-waybill in cooperation with the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development.
