Kazakhstan boosts cargo turnover 3.5% in Jan-Aug 2022
ALMATY. Sept 16 (Interfax) – Kazakhstan posted cargo turnover totaling 393.049 billion tonne-km in January-August 2022, an increase of 3.5% year-on-year, the National Statistics Bureau of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.
Railway transportation increased 5.4% year-on-year to 206.191 billion tonne-km, while roadway transportation declined 6.6% to 88.185 billion tonne-km.
Sea shipping grew 17% to 498.5 million tonne-km, while air transportation fell 32.2% to 34 million tonne-km.
Pipeline pumping rose 10.1% to 98.071 billion tonne-km.
Passenger traffic grew 16.3% year-on-year to 72.088 billion passenger-kilometers.
