Kazakh cos in talks on oil supplies to EU, including Schwedt refinery – minister

ASTANA. Dec 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – European companies are seeking oil supplies from Kazakhstan after the start of the Russian oil cap, and Germany’s Schwedt refinery is one of possible destinations, Kazakh Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov told reporters on Tuesday.

"There are such requests from European consumers in light of the Russian oil price cap," Akchulakov said, adding that such negotiations of commercial transactions could be conducted by Kazakh companies and suppliers.

The journalists asked the minister if Kazakhstan was in talks on crude oil supplies to the Schwedt refinery in Germany.

"Yes, it is one the delivery options. For instance, we already supply oil to Romania," he said.
