Kamet Steel pays UAH 1.6 bln in taxes, fees in 2022

KYIV. Feb 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Kamet Steel plant of the Metinvest mining and metallurgical group, created at the facilities of the Dniprovsky metallurgical plant (Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region), paid UAH 1.598 billion in taxes and fees in 2022, which is higher than in 2021.

According to a press release, Kamet Steel remains a reliable backbone of Kamianske and Ukraine’s economies despite a full-scale Russian invasion.

At the same time, it is specified that the plant transferred more than UAH 528 million to the budget of the city of Kamianske, and more than UAH 1.070 billion was paid to the regional and state budget.

The top three payments made by Kamet Steel to the state and local budgets of Ukraine are as follows: single social security tax – more than UAH 400 million, personal income tax – UAH 350 million, and land tax – UAH 306 million. Also, a significant source of filling the budgets in 2022 was environmental tax, which is more than UAH 123 million.

“Last year tested us – threats of enemy shelling, logistical and energy restrictions. However, the plant has been and remains a reliable support for Kamianske and the largest donor for the city budget, as well as a stable taxpayer to the state. We work for Ukraine and our victory,” general director of Kamet Steel Oleksandr Tretiakov is quoted by the press service.

At the same time, it is recalled that, taking into account associated companies and joint ventures, the Metinvest group transferred UAH 20.5 billion in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels in Ukraine in 2022.
