Joint response of Russia, Belarus to deployment of NATO troops in Ukraine should ensure countries' security – Kremlin
MOSCOW. Sept 27 (Interfax) – Moscow’s and Minsk’s joint steps in response to the deployment of NATO troops in Ukraine should ensure security of both Russia and Belarus, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has said.
"These are steps that would ensure security of our two allied states," Peskov said when asked by journalists what steps Russia and Belarus might take in response to the deployment of NATO forces in Ukraine.
"A potential expansion of NATO’s military infrastructure in Ukraine’s territory is a subject that has been repeatedly mentioned by President Putin, and President Putin has said this is beyond those very red lines of which he has spoken repeatedly," he said.
