JCC authorizes seven ships with almost 173,000 tonnes of Ukrainian food to depart on Wed – UN

NEW YORK (UN). Sept 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – At once, seven ships with food are planning to leave Ukrainian ports on September 14 as part of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) has given permission for this, the UN reports.

"The JCC has authorized the departure of seven vessels transporting a total of 172,962 tonnes of grain and other food products as part of the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the message says.

The UN explained that the vessels Glory Dina (27,000 tonnes of wheat), T-Med (5,500 tonnes of wheat), and Cenk Car (257 tonnes of sunflower seeds and sunflower meal) will go to Turkey. Bulk carriers Tamrey S (18,100 tonnes of corn, 5,500 tonnes of soybeans and 5,400 tonnes of wheat) and Maranta (5,300 tonnes of soybeans) will go to Italy.

In addition, the Ince Akdeniz ship will deliver 55,000 tonnes of wheat to Bangladesh, and Eider S – 50,855 tonnes of corn to Spain.

It is noted that the vessel Cenk Car was in the port of Chornomorsk even before the Black Sea initiative began to operate.

"As of September 13, the total tonnage of grain and other food products exported from three Ukrainian ports is 2.873 million tons. In total, 282 vessels have been allowed to move at the moment – 153 arriving in Ukrainian ports and 129 leaving them," the statement said.
