Javelin anti-tank missile used in Donbas – MP

KYIV. Nov 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – MP from the Servant of the People faction, head of the parliamentary subcommittee on defense industry Ihor Kopytin confirmed earlier information about the use of Javelin anti-tank missile systems supplied by the United States to Ukraine within the military aid package in the Joint Force Operation (JFO) area in Donbas.

"Recently, information was spread that the Javelin anti-tank missile system was used in the JFO area. It is true. Our servicemen used it in combat. So far I have no right to disclose where this happened and under what circumstances, but I will say the following, warning of any further statements and manipulations as to whether Ukraine can defend itself or is not prohibited, yes, it can," Kopytin said on Facebook.

The MP said that Ukraine has the right to protect its land. "Exactly as we see fit, using Javelin or Bayraktar [unmanned aerial vehicles purchased in Turkey], or other weapons on the balance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since we are defending our own state. By the way, we have already talked with our American partners on using Javelin. In dialogue with them, we reached the same opinion that I outlined above […] The truth is ours," Kopytin said.
