Issue of loans to SMEs under portfolio guarantees in Aug down to UAH 436 mln
KYIV. Sept 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Banks participating in the program for issuing loans to small and medium enterprises (SME) under portfolio guarantees in August issued 98 such loans for UAH 436 million, compared with 122 loans for UAH 735 million in July and 229 loans for UAH 1.7 billion in June, the Ministry of Finance said.
It clarified that the share of liabilities guaranteed by the state on the principal debt amounted to UAH 189 million in August, compared to UAH 306 million a month earlier.
In general, since the beginning of the program by September 1, ten banks have issued 2,018 such loans to small, medium and micro businesses for a total of UAH 5.543 billion.
"Liabilities on the principal debt, partially secured by state guarantees on a portfolio basis, amounted to UAH 2.5 billion. This is about 64% of the total limit of guarantees provided in 2020 (UAH 3.930 billion)," the Finance Ministry said.
In terms of the number of loans issued, PrivatBank continues to lead with 948 loans for UAH 865 million, which is about 92% of the limit of guarantees provided to the bank. Oschadbank follows in terms of the number of loans – 722 loans for UAH 2.129 billion, or 93% of the guarantee limit.
The third and fourth are two more state banks: Ukreximbank – 100 loans for UAH 856 million (49% of the limit) and Ukrgasbank – 144 loans for UAH 681 million (64% of the limit).
OTP Bank issued 50 loans for UAH 359 million (72% of the limit), TAScombank – 12 loans for UAH 264 million (45% of the limit), Alliance Bank – 12 loans for UAH 128 million (59% of the limit), CreditWest Bank – 24 loans for UAH 125 million (59% of the limit).
Bank Vostok and Bank Lviv issued 2 loans each: respectively for UAH 80 million (16% of the limit) and for UAH 57 million (27% of the limit).
