Island-type patrol boats donated by U.S. to join Ukrainian Navy – Defense Ministry
KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Island-type patrol boats that the United States has donated to Ukraine joined the Ukrainian Navy in Odesa on Monday, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said.
Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran said in May that the Ukrainian Navy would put together a division of five Island-type patrol boats Ukraine was supposed to receive from the U.S. as part of bilateral cooperation.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on November 23 that two Island-type boats named the Fastiv and the Sumy arrived in Ukraine.
