Investigation may be launched against Putin due to destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure – German Justice Minister
KYIV. Dec 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Federal Minister of Justice Marco Buschmann says that the International Criminal Court (ICC) may open an investigation against Russian President Vladimir Putin for crimes against humanity in connection with the targeted destruction of Ukraine’s infrastructure by the Russian side, the Bavarian portal BR24 reports.
In an interview with RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland on Saturday, the politician said that an indicator of Putin’s direct responsibility could be his television appearances in which he claims that the destruction of civilian infrastructure in Ukraine is a desirable tactic.
At the same time, Buschmann added that this issue is within the ICC competence, because the German Prosecutor General cannot investigate the actions of the Russian President.
