Intl partners help Ukraine restore energy sector – Ministry of Energy

KYIV. Oct 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – International partners are providing Ukraine with humanitarian support in restoring the country’s electricity sector, which has been destroyed by Russian missile strikes.

"Repair teams are working around the clock, but we have massive damage, so there is a lot of work. The humanitarian assistance provided by our international partners to the energy sector, primarily through the Energy Recovery Fund, is very helpful," Energy Minister Herman Haluschenko wrote on his Facebook page.

The minister of energy also thanked the Ukrainians for the massive response to the appeal to reduce the load on the power system and voluntarily reduce household electricity consumption during Monday evening peak hours.

"Your support has really helped! If we can replicate this conscious approach to energy efficiency tonight, the country’s blackout schedules could be significantly reduced," he said.

"This autumn-winter period will be difficult, and yesterday everyone saw exactly why. Therefore, reasonable consumption of electricity and heat should become our habit," the minister added.
