KYIV. Oct 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Interpipe Ukrainian industrial company continues developing export supplies of products for passenger railway transport and, expanding and diversifying the geography of sales. For the first time the company sold wheels for passenger trains to the Netherlands.
According to information on the company’s Facebook page on Wednesday, in September Interpipe Nyzhniodniprovsky Pipe Rolling Plant shipped an experimental batch of 840 mm EN13262 wheels to GVB, which operates the Amsterdam metro. The plant is now preparing to release an industrial batch for the new client.
Interpipe’s wheel products will be used to repair Alstom subway cars.
"The company is supplying wheels to the Netherlands for the first time. The peculiarity of this order was in the increased requirements for the microstructure of the metal. The buyer requested higher quality and strength characteristics of the wheels, which were obtained due to the optimal heat treatment. Deliveries for GVB are a good reference in the segment of passenger wheels for the municipal transport of the European Union," Director of Interpipe Railway Products Division Oleksandr Harkavy said.
