In Ukraine, on initiative of NSDC, audit of state military-technical cooperation with foreign states to be held for first time

KYIV. Sept 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – At the initiative of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) in Ukraine, an audit of the state of military-technical cooperation (MTC) with foreign states over the past three-year period will be carried out within six months.

"On June 18, 2021, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine adopted a decision On the Strategy for the Development of the Defense Industrial Complex of Ukraine," which was put into effect by the decree of the President of Ukraine dated August 20, 2021 No. 372.

In order to improve Ukraine’s position on the world arms market and strengthen the state’s potential in the field of military-technical cooperation, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, according to this decision, was instructed to ensure that Ukraine’s military-technical cooperation with foreign countries is inspected within six months over the past three years," the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reports.

In particular, during the inspection, the features and trends in the development of the world arms market, military and special equipment; the effectiveness of Ukraine’s military-technical cooperation with foreign countries, financial indicators of the export of weapons and military equipment to foreign countries, the results of the activities of government bodies, enterprises, institutions and organizations of industry and science, as well as ensuring the security and defense sector, will be analyzed.

"On the basis of the review, the Strategy of military-technical cooperation of Ukraine for the next five years will be developed, which will be submitted for consideration by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine," the statement said.
