In first days after start of war, Zelensky's entourage lives in ascetic conditions – Nykyforov
KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In the first days after the start of the war, Zelensky’s entourage lived in ascetic conditions, presidential spokesperson Serhiy Nykyforov said, recalling, at the request of Interfax-Ukraine, his work immediately after the large-scale invasion.
"Everything turned upside down. I moved to live at work. Ascetic conditions, but the most necessary things were there: a shower – in the corridor, small rooms with low ceilings. Everything is from the past, at the same time clean and tidy. Metal-plastic doors and good LED lamps gave a more modern look," he said.
"There were quite a few of us there," Nykyforov said.
The food, according to him, at first was not of very high quality.
"They diluted Mivina [instant pasta fast food] not even with hot, but with warm water, because of this, she didn’t really get wet. But these are literally the first days, then gradually the situation became better with food," the presidential press secretary said.
He also said the first three to four months of the war "literally lived at work," and moved home only closer to the summer.
"I moved to live for work… I went home once a week for a couple of hours: wash things, water the flowers and go back. The family left. Somewhere closer to summer, life returned to its circles a little. I returned home – and some kind of like a graph," Nykyforov said.
