In addition to Abrams tanks, USA transferring ammunition and vehicles to Ukraine –media
KYIV. Jan 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The United States is transferring 120 mm shells, tactical and support vehicles, as well as maintenance funds to Ukraine in one aid package with a batch of M1 Abrams tanks, said Jack Detsch, a journalist with the Foreign Policy ezine.
“US is procuring 31 Abrams tanks for Ukraine over the course of months in a $400m military aid package: DoD. US also providing 120mm rounds, eight tactical vehicles, support vehicles & maintenance funds,” Detsch said on Twitter Wednesday.
According to him, the United States has provided Ukraine with military assistance worth $27.1 billion since the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
As previously reported, U.S. President Joseph Biden announced that the USA would provide Ukraine with 31 M1 Abrams tanks. Biden clarified that sending this equipment will take time. However, he assured that the USA will spend this time on training the Ukrainian military to use M1 Abrams, which will begin as soon as possible.
